Re-enacted Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry (1939-1945)Welcome to the PPCLI re-enactment unit's website. This unit is a project of the Canadian Military Heritage Society , a non-profit charitable organization, and not related to the presently serving PPCLI battalions of the Canadian Armed Forces. However, kind permission has been given by the PPCLI to portray this dedicated and proud serving unit as a CMHS living history project. The PPCLI WW2 unit travels throughout Ontario, New York, PA, and Ohio representing the historical contributions the regiment contributed during the years of World War Two. Latest News:D-Day Invasion, 2011
At the D-Day reenactment in Conneaut Ohio this past weekend, Aug 19-20 the CMHS PPCLI won 1st place for best unit impression. The judges roamed the event site and interviewed reenactors and observed their actions during the simulated combat events. Out of 650 reenactors present this is truly an honour to win the top prize. Members of the Perth regiment who marched beside us helped us achieve this honour and we thank them for being with us. D-Day Invasion, 2007The unit won second place at the D-Day (Conneaut, OHIO) reenactment.Selection was based on conversations with Veterans and appearance. It was a great honour to be awarded this plaque, especially, when judged by American Veterans amongst several US reenactment units. |
